ITS OFTEN ALL ABOUT EARS!
Ear diseases can be very frustrating for both owner and practitioner alike, because the symptoms can usually be seen (and smelt!), but the process of the cure may take quite some time.
Ear problems are often caused by stress factors such as poor diet, vaccines, chemical flea control, toxic sprays, and emotional and environmental problems although a gut problem is usually at the top of our list! Ear mites, yeasts, bacteria and various ‘infective’ discharges may be present, however, they are merely ‘opportunists’ and not the underlying problem itself.
The herbal component of our EAR DROPS are effective for the above but addressing the underlying cause is essential. This may be something as simple as water in the ear from swimming– use a 5% white vinegar & water solution (kills yeast as well). Dietary tweaks can make a dramatic difference for recurrent ear infections as can EFA’s in the diet of the desexed animal.
Ear Mites – often an over-diagnosed condition but a mineral oil mix is great for smothering ear mites (not a vegetable oil – this will feed the mites!).
The EAR DROPS are our first go-to for ear problems to alleviate the irritation and, unless it’s a foreign body in the ear, give the pet some respite from head shaking and scratching.
