Bowen Therapy is a very gentle “hands on” treatment.  The whole animal is treated, not just the painful area.

Bowen helps the fascia to lubricate and the muscles to relax, which increases movement and relieves pain. Bowen also helps the animal to heal itself. Any animal will benefit, but mostly horses, dogs and cats are treated.

Animals love their Bowen. Ask Rowan after his neck massage and the two horses who lay down and fell asleep, so contented, the first time after nearly a year travelling and in quarantine.

What conditions benefit from Bowen ?   Any condition involving the muscles and joints. Animals with chronic conditions such as arthritis find that their pain and mobility improve, resulting in greater comfort.  Bowen helps to manage chronic conditions. Following orthopaedic surgery, such as a cruciate ligament repair, Bowen helps to rebalance the muscles, improve mobility, and aid healing

Animals with an acute muscular condition for example a wry neck or a shoulder injury, find relief from pain and improved mobility.

Bowen is so gentle that even an animal who is in a lot of pain, benefits from and enjoys a treatment.

Treatments take up to an hour.  Two treatments are needed, about a week apart. After their treatment, animals appreciate some quiet time and often have a deep sleep.

Some animals, while having their Bowen Treatment, ask for healing.

The two therapies work in very well together. Animals who have been “rescued” and carry a lot of “emotional baggage” will also, like people, benefit from healing.
